Mock up of the ceramic elements

Some areas are cut away and some areas are etched to let light through

I am creating a new found object sculpture using a nuclear power plant cooling fan blade as a blank canvas! This blade is 200 pounds, almost six feet tall, and I will be removing areas and filling in areas with ceramic elements. The sculpture will be shown with a group of other artists at FOGUE Studios & Gallery in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood March 12-April 23, 2022.

Bidden/Unbidden showcases works of visual art by Carolyn Autenrieth, Rosalie Frankel, and Stephanie Hargrave, and poetry by Arlene Naganawa. In each work, ghosts appear, often surprising the artist. In Autenrieth’s ceramics, form and color create “a tolerable beauty” in response to deeply felt sorrow and loss.
